UPDATE: The suspect is in custody!
The Police Stand-off in Birch Tree is over. Early this morning the Shannon County Sheriff’s Department responded to a home in Birch Tree for a reported incident. When they arrived they discover an individual at the residence had active warrants from Howell County. The individual then barricaded themselves in the home. Howell County Sheriff’s office was called and a quick response team responded to the scene. After a short stan-off, the individual surrendered without any further incident. The subject was taken into custody at around 8:15. At this time no names have been released.
