The Howell County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team was called to a residence in Birch Tree last week where a man had barricaded himself in a small camper. Earlier that morning the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office was called to the residence for a reported assault. The S.W.A.T. team was called to assist and after several attempts to make contact with the suspect were unsuccessful a breach of the camper was made through a window. A small amount of CS gas was deployed but the suspect refused to exit the camper. A forced breach then occurred through the main entrance and the suspect, Christopher W. Parsons was arrested. Parsons was transported to Howell County Adult Detention Center where he was booked on felony Howell County arrest warrants for Endangering the Welfare of A Child – Involving Drugs and Possession Of a Controlled Substance.
