
On Monday, December 13, 2022, Douglas County Sheriff Degase made contact with a suspicious vehicle near Gentryville in eastern Douglas County. As a result of the contact Sheriff, Degase arrested Brandon Clapp age 24 of Caulfield, and Megan Loftis age 32 of Caulfield for a multitude of charges.
Upon Sheriff Degase approaching the driver Brandon Clapp, Sheriff Degase observed a pistol in their hoodie pocket of Clapp pointed at Sheriff Degase. Subsequently, Clapp, Loftis, and a third passenger who was not charged were removed from the vehicle by Sheriff Degase and Reserve Deputy Greg Martin.
Loftis was found to be in possession of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia. Clapp was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, opioids, and drug paraphernalia.
A warrant was issued for Loftis for Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $1500 cash only.
A warrant was issued for Clapp for 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful possession of a firearm by possessing felony amounts of controlled substances. Clapp’s bond was set at $2500 cash, CPS testing, and no possession of firearms. Clapp has since posted bond
