A Batesville Business pays penalties for using child labor

The U.S. Department of Labor reports that a business in Batesville used underage workers at their plant. George’s Inc was one of several businesses that the food and safety sanitation service investigated for using child labor. George’s will pay $60,522 in penalties.  The children ranged in age from 13 to 17 years old and were found in hazardous occupations. The investigation was part of a large scale investigations that also included a Tyson Plant in Green Forest Arkansas.
