Students, staff and parents will soon be seeing new faces at Izard County Elementary in Violet Hill, Arkansas. The Izard County Sheriff’s Department has agreed to provide a sheriff’s deputy on a daily basis for the entire school year. This increased security presence is in addition to the full-time school resource officer who is stationed at the Middle/High School campus in Brockwell.

Superintendent Fred Walker, Izard County Chief Deputy Earnie Blackley and Izard County Sheriff Jack Yancey recently worked out the purchase service agreement between the school district and the sheriff’s office. Walker said, “This gives the Izard County Consolidated School District a police officer stationed at both the Violet Hill and Brockwell campuses every day to help provide a safe and secure environment for all the district’s students and staff.”
