43-year-old James Thomas Young has been charged with statutory sodomy and first-degree statutory rape, both charges involving a child younger than 12 years old, after an investigation by the Howell County Sheriff’s Office and the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) that also reportedly uncovered the alleged neglect and abuse of four children.
In the grand jury’s bill of indictment, the charge of statutory sodomy was filed related to alleged sexual contact with a child on two separate instances in June 2020 and June 2021, and the charge of statutory rape was based on an alleged incident that happened in April 2022.
