Cardinals win and Royals lost on Wednesday

MIAMI  — Luis Arraez singled twice and raised his major league-leading average to .403 as the Miami Marlins beat the Kansas City Royals 6-1 on Wednesday night.

The Royal’s Jordan Lyles remained winless and lost his 10th decision. He allowed five runs, six hits, walked one and struck out two in seven-plus innings.

The Royals, are off today, then LHP Daniel Lynch (0-1, 4.35) starts the opener of a three-game series at Baltimore on Friday.

 

ARLINGTON, Texas — — Rookie Alec Burlson pulled a first-pitch homer to right field in the eighth inning and the St Louis Cardinals beat Texas 1-0 on Wednesday night, ending Rangers infielder Marcus Semien’s hitting streak at 25 games.

The Cardinal’s are off today then  LHP Jordan Montgomer  (2-7, 4.23 ERA) will open a three-game home series on Friday night against Cincinnati
