Last Friday, dispatch received a call that a male at the Pontiac Marina campground was acting erratic and broke a camper’s truck windows. Witnesses believed the male was on drugs. Deputies arrived on the scene and located the male and the victims of the damaged property. It was determined through interviews the male also assaulted another person at the location.
The man, identified as Edward Malyk, exhibited signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance and while being placed under arrest, he resisted, and the use of force resulted in him being assisted into handcuffs without his help. Suspected cocaine was located in his vehicle along with paraphernalia. He was booked into jail for Property Damage, Assault, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Paraphernalia.
