The Highway Patrol reports that 60-year-old Douglas May was injured when he drove off the road, down a ravine, and struck a tree. May was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He also faces charges of DWI, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, and no seat belt. The accident happened on Highway 5, a mile and a half south of Mansfield.
