A former Stone County Arkansas deputy faces charges for allegedly selling a stolen firearm

36-year-old Zachary Hunter Alexander of Fifty Six Arkansas allegedly misappropriated funds from the Stone County Sheriff’s Foundation to purchase firearms. Alexander allegedly purchased two rifles and then sold one six months later. He also allegedly admitted he kept $3,800 from the Stone County Treasurer’s Office that was to be used to purchase police equipment. Alexander faces five counts of bank fraud, five counts of extortion under the color of official, and one count of selling a stolen firearm. Alexander has pleaded guilty to one count of selling a stolen firearm and one count of extortion. Alexander could get up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
