On August 19, 2023, at approximately 2210 hours, Deputy Gordon conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy 60 in Mountain View on a truck that was failing to maintain its lane. During the course of the stop, Deputy First Class Weaver was called to the scene and K9 Ares was deployed for narcotics detection. K9 Ares alerted to the odor of narcotics. A probable cause search was conducted based on the K9 alert. During the search of the truck, multiple bags containing a white crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine were seized. The driver, Jessica Freeman, admitted to the possession of the suspected controlled substance and was taken into custody and booked into the Howell County Adult Detention Center.
A warrant was issued for Trafficking Drugs – 2nd Degree and a bond was set at $25,000.00. Freeman has since posted bond and was released from the Howell County Adult Detention Center with a return court date.
