The bridge over Harkle Creek on Highway 9 in Fulton County has been closed to through traffic

The Arkansas Department of Transportation closed the bridge temporarily after a routine inspection. ARDOT reports that a detour has been set up They say motorists traveling north on Highway 9 will be detoured at Oxford onto Arkansas Highway 354. At the four-way stop in Horseshoe Bend, the detour continues straight onto Arkansas Highway 289 to Glencoe. Motorists will then head west on U.S. Highway 62/412 to Salem, where they can return to their northern route on Highway 9. Those traveling south on Highway 9 will be detoured from Salem to Glencoe, Horseshoe Bend, and Oxford, where they’ll return to Highway 9. Sings are in place and motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the area.
