The Highway Patrol reports that 34-year-old Amy Howell and 41-year-old Jessica Hawks were both injured when the vehicle that Howell was driving ran off the road, then came back onto the roadway and hit the vehicle that Hawks was driving head-on. Howell was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, and Hawks was taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. The accident happened on Missouri 17, seven miles south of Summersville.
