The Highway Patrol reports that 56-year-old Angela McCabe of Ellington suffered serious injuries and 39-year-old Meljen Hernandez of Van Buren suffered moderate injuries when Hernandez drove into the path of the vehicle that McCabe was driving. McCabe was flown to Cox South In Springfield, and Hernandez was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Hernandez was also charged with felony DWI causing serious physical injury, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, no insurance, and no valid driver’s license. The accident happened on Highway 21, three miles north of Van Buren.
