Authorities in Baxter County report that 44-year-old Golden Reed Stowers died in the shooting. The Sheriff’s Office was called to Stowers’s home on County Road 74, west of Calico Rock on Wednesday afternoon. Stowers was reportedly walking to the house from a field and Stowers grabbed a holster with a gun in it and the gun discharged, hitting him. Emergency personnel were called but life-saving attempts failed.
