Man who allegedly stole a vehicle in West Plains led police on a high-speed chase on Friday

A high-speed chase through several counties on Friday involved a man wanted in connection with the theft of a vehicle from a convenience store in West Plains on Wednesday. The chase began in Mountain Home with Mountain Police pursuing the stolen vehicle, Mountain Home Police were assisted in the chase by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police.  The chase was on Highway 62 west towards Gassville. The driver then turned onto Highway 126 through Midway and Arkansas Highway 5 into Ozark County in Missouri. The chase reached speeds of 110 mph. The Ozark County Sheriff’s Office continued the pursuit to the Taney County Line. 32-year-old Adam Barlett is accused of stealing the Chevy Trailblazer on Wednesday. He eluded police and allegedly stole a vehicle in Taney County. A 2001 red Dodge Ram Dually with a Deweze Flatbed. He was last seen headed west of Highway 160 towards Reuter Authorities say that there is a likelihood that the suspect will attempt to return to the Caulfield and Bakersfield areas of Howell County and Ozark County. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Bartlett is encouraged to contact police.
