On 10/25/23, Deputy Phelan, Deputy Lane, and Lieutenant Rhoades conducted a warrant arrest for Clifton Watson in Gainesville for his active felony warrant. He was located, arrested and booked into jail.
On 10/25/23, Deputy Lane and Deputy Phelan conducted a warrant service for Aaron Davis in Caufield for his active felony warrant. He was located, arrested, and booked into jail.
On 10/21/23, Deputy Fountain and Deputy Sherman conducted a warrant service for Charles White for his active felony warrant. He was located, arrested and booked into jail.
On 10/21/23, Deputies and Highway Patrol were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident in Thornfield with injuries. The passenger was taken to the hospital for her injuries. The first responders saw the driver flee the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Upon arrival, a firearm and suspected meth were in plain view inside the suspect’s truck. He was not located in the immediate area. Several hours later, Brandon Guidry was located in the area requesting medical assistance after the injuries from the accident began feeling.. not so good. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was booked and released to the ambulance to be transported to the hospital for his injuries. The Highway Patrol’s accident investigation is ongoing.
On 10/21/23, Deputy Fountain and Deputy Sherman conducted a warrant service for Steve Long in Isabella for his 4 active felony warrants for possession of a controlled substance and driving with a revoked driver’s license (felony). He was located, arrested, and booked into jail.
On 10/15/23, Deputies were called to an address in Gainesville over a report of harassment. There were approximately 100 calls and text messages sent by the suspect to the victim that were threatening to do physical harm to the victim and pictures of the victim’s house. Deputy Sherman located the suspect a short time later in Gainesville and contacted him to arrest him for Harassment 1st degree (felony). Charles Berger resisted arrest and a use of force occurred. He was arrested and booked into jail. Charles was also arrested for an active misdemeanor warrant.
On 10/13/23, Deputy Sherman conducted an investigation from a previous report. During the investigation he was granted a search warrant. The search warrant was served and a firearm was located. Daniel Mahan was arrested for being in possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.
On 10/12/23, Deputies were called to a property west of Theodosia for a shooting. A dispute resulted in the suspect shooting at and striking the victim’s vehicle. Deputies arrived and arrested the male after and investigation and locating the firearm used in the crime. James Reed was arrested, and a warrant was issued for Unlawful use of a weapon, Harassment 1st, Armed Criminal Action, and Tampering with a motor vehicle.
There has been a recent increase in violent acts between neighbors over simple disputes. While we understand we cannot all be neighbors with Mr. Rogers, we advised folks to pull on a comfortable cardigan and work out their arguments without violence even when they really don’t like their neighbors.
On 10/11/23, Deputy Lane and Deputy Phelan conducted an investigated the whereabouts of a male with an active felony warrant out of Douglas County who was staying in Bakersfield. They located Jeremiah Evans and arrested him. He was booked into jail for his warrant.
On 10/09/23, Deputy Sherman and Deputy Fountain conducted a warrant service for Bradley Connell who had an active felony warrant for unlawful use of a weapon, assault, and armed criminal action, stemming from an incident over disputed land. They arrested Connell at his residence in Brixey without incident. He was booked into jail
On 10/08/23, Deputy Fountain and Deputy Sherman learned that a male with an active felony warrant out of Arkansas was in Ozark County. They located Kolby Tulpa and arrested him. He was booked into jail for his warrant.
