A lawsuit has been filed against Harps Food Stores by the family of a dead couple in Baxter County. The lawsuit alleges that the store did not detect a classic “straw man purchase” meaning one person buys a weapon because the other could not make the purchase for a variety of reasons. Less than a day before an elderly Midway Couple were shot to death, convicted murderer Micholas Roos and Taimadge Pendergrass wentt to the Harps Store in Mountain Home and bought a 9mm handgun. The gun was then used to kill 71 year old Ladonna Rice and 75 year old Donald Rice. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.
