Missouri’s Ty’Ron Hopper and Cody Schrader are named as finalist and semi-finalist respectively for awards

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Butkus Foundation named University of Missouri linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper as one of five finalists for the 2023 Butkus Award®.

The senior from Shelby, North Carolina is joined by Jeremiah Trotter Jr. (Clemson), Edefuan Ulofoshio (Washington), Nathaniel Watson (Mississippi State) and Payton Wilson (NC State) on the finalist list.

Hopper is the third Mizzou player to earn finalist honors for the Butkus Award along with Nick Bolton (2020) and  Sean Weatherspoon (2008, 2009).

 

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri running back  Cody Schrader  is one of 10 semifinalists for the 2023 Doak Walker National Collegiate Running Back Award, the PwC SMU Athletic Forum announced Tuesday.

A former walk-on who started his career at NCAA Division II Truman State, Schrader leads the Southeastern Conference and ranks seventh nationally in rushing, averaging 115.6 yards per outing. The Burlsworth Trophy finalist also paces the conference – and ranks 12th in the FBS – in all-purpose yardage (133.0 ypg), this season.
