Howell County is under a rabies alert after a house cat tested positive. Authorities say the cat was a stray that came into contact with two adults and three children. The cat allegedly started acting strange and was taken to a veterinarian who submitted the cat for rabies testing to the state lab. All five people that came in contact with the cat have received anti-rabies shots. Two other cats at the home were euthanized and tested negative for rabies.
