20-year-old Jacoby Auston Goehler of Salem, AR is facing additional charges for attempting to escape the Fulton County Jail.
Goehler is being charged with a first-degree criminal attempt to escape and eight counts of possession of weapons by an incarcerated person.
Goehler was arrested and charged with murdering 19-year-old Davidlee Standbyry of Salem.
According to a local media outlet, Areawide Media, jail personnel was informed that he was plotting his escape.
After a search of the barracks, Goehler hds a broken vent in the bathroom of his barrack and was making weapons.
After searching his area, authorities found 8 1.5-inch by 8.75-inch metal pieces, six small metal pieces, and a blanket torn into strips.
Authorities later found that Goehler would use the items to escape incarceration.
Areawide Media also says that it was believed Goehler was going to speak with his attorney before putting his plan into action.
