Special election set for Randolph County, voting on potential mill increase

vote-1-fi

In Randolph County, AR, a special election will be held to decide a millage increase.

Voters can take to the polls on September 14.

The millage increase will help pay for a new high school to be built and will increase the millage rate in the school district by 3.44 mills.

The school board attempted to increase it last year for the same cause, but would eventually fail by 37 votes.

Pocahontas Public Schools received $9 million from the state, but are at risk of losing that money if the proposal does not pass.
