
A man being held at the North Central Unit of Correction in Calico Rock, AR is now facing more charges after punching a corrections officer.
According to the probable cause affidavit, charges were filed on Thursday for an altercation that occurred on August 2 against 25-year-old Casey Yarbrough.
The affidavit also states that A NCU corrections officer was working his assigned post at the unit when he noticed inmate Casey Yarbrough sitting on another inmate’s rack.
After the officer instructed Yarbrough to get off the rack, the inmate became very agitated and told the corrections officer to speak to him like a man.
Yarbrough took what the affidavit said was an aggressive stance toward the corrections officer and continued to yell obscenities at him and the officer ordered him to go back to his rack.
The inmate bumped the corrections chest bumped the officer, then the CO pushed the inmate away from him.
While the officer was giving orders to the inmate to leave the barracks, Yarbrough punched him on the left side of his head, then forced the inmate to the wall.
During the altercation, Yarbrough punched the officer a second time and stuck his finger in the officer’s eye.
After multiple COs responded to the fight, Yarbrough was taken to a restrictive housing area, the officer was taken to the infirmary to be treated for his injuries.
Casey Yarbrough is being charged with felony battery in the 2nd degree.
