Thayer man arrested on DWI charges after causing accident

A Thayer man was arrested on Thursday evening in Ripley County after causing a crash. 

According to crash reports, a 2005 Ford F150 driven by 33-year-old Zachary Reifschneider of Thayer was traveling westbound on Highway 160, two miles south of Doniphan, when the F150 struck a 2016 Nissan Altima driven by 51-year-old Rodney Laughlin of Doniphan. 

Laughlin was reported to have minor injuries on the scene. He was taken by ambulance to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Reifschneider now faces a charge of felony driving while intoxicated causing physical energy. 

He was taken to the Butler County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold.
