A man was arrested by the Izard County Sheriffs Office on sexual assault charges.
According to court documents, Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office received reports on Dec. 3 of an alleged inappropriate sexual relationship that was occurring between 39-year-old Larry Hamby and a juvenile female victim.
Court documents show that the violation occurred on July 1 of this year.
While speaking with investigators, the victim disclosed that she and Hamby were in a sexual relationship and had sexual intercourse at least once while she was 15 years old.
The victim’s cell phone was provided to investigators, and they discovered an extensive text message correspondence between the two, which detailed their sexual relationship.
In the text, both the victim and Hamby discuss sexually inappropriate material, and on more than one occasion, exchanged explicit photographs.
Hamby is charged with 4th-degree sexual assault, which is a class D felony.
Hamby’s bond was set at $10,000, which was later posted by the Triple R Bail Bonds service of Ash Flat.
