
A man has been arrested after allegedly biting a police officer in Batesville. Cleveland Tidwell is charged with a second-degree battery. Last week an officer was dispatched to Southern Bank in Batesville for a reported trespassing. Employees at the Bank told police that Tidwell had come to the property multiple times throughout the week asking for money from his account. He was told he had no active accounts and became irritated. Tidwell was found by police parked at a gas station only two blocks from Southern Bank and looked to be conversing with a nonexistent passenger. They tried to take him into custody and after a brief struggle, he bit an officer’s finger.
Tidwell is being charged with battery in the second degree, resisting arrest, and criminal trespass.
