On Wednesday, 60-year-old Robert Martinez Jr of Ava was arrested on a Douglas County Grand Jury Indictment for Failure to Register as a sex offender. Bond was set at $1500 cash only.
Deputy Nathan Long investigated the case after it was discovered that Martinez Jr. had obtained a new phone number several months earlier and had not provided it to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office as required by law.
