Long time PR director for Silver Dollar City and former KY3 News anchor Lisa Rau passed away on Thursday. Rau first began her career at KY3 in 1984 where she had started as a weather forecaster and from there became a field reporter, then finally onto an anchor. During her extensive career she broke several investigative stories, like the groundbreaking series on chicken farms in the Ozarks. Then in 1989 her career changed for good the day that Silver Dollar City founder Pete Herschend gave her a call. She turned to publicity, becoming PR director for the park. She held her position at PR for over three decades, helping turn the park into what it is today. Rau’s Silver Dollar City career came to an end in February of 2023, when she left to become the communications director for the city of Branson which she left in 2024. E-Communication’s had also worked with Lisa for many years in the marketing department of Silver Dollar City.
