The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the arrest of a man for theft and terroristic threatening for an event that occurred on Sunday.
A probable cause affidavit says that Sheriff’s Deputy Blair Ables was called to the 15000 block of Harmony Hill Road in Salem for an altercation that had occurred.
A victim stated that 58-year-old Martin Young had assaulted him inside his residence.
The affidavit also says that Young had hit the victim a short time earlier in the face, knocked him out of his chair and into the floor.
Young hit him several more times, then stole his cell phone, electric wheelchair keys, and truck keys then stole the victim’s truck and fled the scene, all before the deputy’s arrival.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Approximately two hours before the incident involving the altercation, Martin threatened the victims’ son.
Young went into the son’s camper and punched him.
Young pushed the son onto the couch, held a pen to the side of his throat, and stated “I will stab you in the jugular and kill you”.
Martin was later located in a West Plains hotel.
He was in possession of the stolen phone and is on felony probation from Benton County, AR.
Young is now facing charges for felony theft of property, more than $1,000 but less than $5,000, felony domestic battery in the second degree, and felony terroristic threatening in the first degree.
Young’s bond was set at $10,000.
